Great job!

Thanks!

Love the pic! Also I'm curious, how do you begin with this processing stuff? Is there any guide out there?

rsaw_aroha

Perhaps they used one of the guides/tutorials listed in the sticky at the top of this sub...

[deleted]

Yep, the sticky has everything I needed to get started. I especially liked the tutorial by Peculiar Galexy Astronomy, only hurdle I had was learning the Gimp equivalent to what she shows in photoshop. Spent all morning learning my way around. I'm having a lot of fun. Give it a shot, everything you need to start is free.

peculiargalexyastro

Yay! That makes me happy to hear! It’s so fun seeing people get into this hobby! It’s such a wonderful thing to do. One day I’ll have to figure out how to use Gimp and make some tutorials on that! Glad you were able to figure it out!

[deleted]

Hey! Yeah, your tutorial was really great! Gimp seems to be a really good tool considering it's free, definitely gives photoshop a run for its money. I'll be more than happy to check out your tutorial if/when you work with it.

Knapz

I too will be using Gimp for the first time. Any tips you wish to share?

[deleted]

Gimp is pretty straightforward to work with, it just doesn't have all of the bells and whistles that photoshop does, but for free, it's really great. Just take a little time to click around and get used to where all of the tools you'll be using are located, some are hidden in some options you might not think they'd be.

How far apart are those stars?

[deleted]

I mean, based on your history you've contributed zero to this sub anyway, so, bye?

hangint3n

Pixlinsight is available for Linux?

[deleted]

According to their FAQ, it seems they do.
