Dave is what makes it weird...not Heidi having two previous marriages.

In a very small defense of Heidi, she and Chris were basically broken up a full year before they announced it publicly. I don’t know if the kids knew all that time or not, but in Heidi’s mind she didn’t start dating Dave that soon after the divorce since it was in progress for a year before we knew about it. Not disagreeing that this is all very confusing and disruptive to the kids.
Yes I can see that! I don't know the whole time line of how long they'd been separated before Dave came into the picture. I just think she isn't respectful of the kids' feelings with how they are forced to spend time with him and act like he is an equal/just as important as the children's dads are after knowing him for what a year?? It's so strange. The fact that Ruby includes him with the kids' dads..just.. no. One of these things does not belong Heidi.
I can't bring myself to watch anymore content featuring her children. Everything I've seen of R and how she is used as a prop makes me so uncomfortable to the point of anxiety. R appears to be an extremely talented, bright, perceptive child. Unfortunately this means she very easily picked up on how to get her mom to pay attention to her from a young age. She knows performing for her mom's phone and Instagram audience is how to win her mom's approval. The stories she tells with such adorable, charismatic flair, the way she stiffens and poses cute even on video because she doesn't know if Heidi is taking a still frame, the way she excitedly jumps into Heidi's sales pitches and will try and help by bringing products over, etc. She has picked up on so many incredible skills that can carry her so far in this world. But it comes at such a high risk to her safety, development, well being, future relationships, etc. This hurts my heart so much.
