Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firms will still be the country’s business industry for 2011 due to the emergence of more BPO investors. These BPO firms will hire more than 84,000 Filipinos this year to meet the growing demand in outsourcing.
The Department of Labor and employment (DOLE) said that 84,000 workers will be needed in BPO industry which includes call center, legal and medical transcription, accounting services, software development and animation, among others.
On the other hand, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will offer a free six-month training course for those who wants to learn English proficiency program. The graduates of this course will be automatically absorbed by some BPO firms.
The labor department said that they have allotted about P20 million for the free training course which is free and open to all interested. For more information about this program you may visit www.tesda.gov.ph or www.dole.gov.ph
