Nestle Confirms No Plans in Relocating to Indonesia

Date Posted: Jun 24, 2010

Rumors about Nestle Inc. moving their plants in Indonesia have been finally cleared by its officials.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) secretary Jesli Lapuz said that Nestle chairman and chief executive officer John Miller has informed him personally that the company is not moving and in fact looking at expanding its operations in the country.

Nestle also added they continue to invest heavily in its manufacturing facilities in the Philippines by upgrading its machinery and expanding capacities to meet local and foreign demand for its products.

The health and food company has four manufacturing facilities in the country. Their Cagayan de Oro factory manufactures Nescafe and the Nestle Group’s ASEAN Supply center for their filled milk power products. Second is the Cabuyao factory which manufactures milk, nutrition beverages, and food and is the Nestle Group’s ASEAN supply center for infant products.

The third factory is Lipa City which manufactures Milo and is the Nestlé Group’s ASEAN supply center for breakfast cereals and the recently commissioned Pulilan Factory, which manufactures Nestle ice cream and chilled products.
