Largest business
process outsourcing firm in the world, Convergys Inc. is expecting to add more
than 6,000 seats this year which will result to hiring thousands of competitive
call center agents.
The call
center firm said that they are expecting economic recovery from major markets,
as well as fresh growth from new clients and sectors. Though
US markets have suffered the most punch last year, call center emerge despite
the odds.
Convergys
vice president for operations Stephen Daoust said most of the company’s client
even grew last year, although at a slower rate.
“Despite
the recession, most of our clients actually grew last year,” Daoust said.
“We are
looking at all locations for our growth. We are examining all the locations,”
he added.
Daoust also
announced that they renew and fueled their partnership with Philippines’
retail giant Bench for its unique marketing campaign and to attract best call
center agents. The company aims that the partnership boosts its manpower needs
by giving all its employees a “fashion make-over”.
“Convergys
wants to attract the best talents by positioning the company in sync with the
young generation, aged 21-26, the target employees of the company,” said Marife
Zamora, Convergys country manager.
“We expect growth that is definitely bigger
than last year,” Zamora
said.
With 12
call center sites in the country, Cebu is said
to be the fastest growing facility.
“Cebu is definitely our growth area. With the kind of
talent that it has, as well as the support from the government and academe,” Zamora added.
