2 BPO Firms Offer More Jobs To Filipinos

Two Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firms Convergy’s Corporation and Sutherland Global Services had expand operations giving more job opportunities to Filipino workers.

Known as the world’s leading contact center, Convergy’s Corporation recently built the largest BPO facility in the country which can house up to 2,050 employees.

Convergy’s new facility is located in Glorietta 5 in Makati City, the first of its kind facility in the country that offers the convenience of a shopping mall on its lower floors and includes executive and administrative offices, training rooms, conference rooms, and employee lounges.

The BPO firm is also the top contact center in Cebu City with over 3,300 employees. Aside from Cebu and Metro Manila, Convergys has sites in Bacolod City and Laguna

Convergys is now the largest BPO provider in Cebu City with over 3,300 employees throughout three contact center facilities.

Of the 12 Convergys facilities, seven are located in Metro Manila, three in Cebu City, one in Bacolod City, and one in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

On the other hand, Sutherland Global Services, a leading New York-based multinational Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) provider had also open their new facility in Luisa Complex, Jacinto Extension, Davao City.

US Ambassador Kristy Kenny was very delighted and cited Sutherland for its commitment of giving more decent job opportunities to people.

“I am amazed with the commitment and growth you have experienced in this part of the country. I am happy to note how Sutherland here in Davao City has given amazing career opportunities to so many talented young Filipinos,” Ambassador Kenney told more than 1,500 SGS employees.

Sutherland Davao is the company’s third largest delivery center in the country which handles variety of front and back office business processes to support clients representing information technology, communications and retail, banking and finance industries.

“You help make American companies become stronger. You provide excellent service to the customers of these American firms and in doing so help these companies and the American economy. With delighted customers, companies continue to survive this financial crisis, develop new products, continue to be more successful, and create more jobs, both back home and here in Davao,” said Kenny.

Convergys and Sutherland are in need of hundreds of employees to cope with their growing demand of qualified call center agents. The two companies are encouraging qualified job seekers to apply.
