What To Prepare During Job Fairs

Job Fair is attended by numbers of employers, so job opportunities can easily be found here! It is attended by hundreds or even thousands of jobseekers so the competition is tougher compare to usual job interviews.


To help you out, here are some tips on what to prepare during Job Fairs:



  1. Prepare at least 5-10 resumes- Job fair is attended by numbers of employers so it is very important that you prepare at least 10 resumes to pass to series of employers. It is okay to pass photocopyied resumes during job fairs since most HR officers would just use it as a guide in initial interviews and will ask you again to bring another one when you get a schedule for another interview.


  1. Prepare a comprehensive resumes and/or portfolios- Your resumes and portfolios should be very detailed and has an impact. Remember that employers receive files of resumes during job fairs so make sure that yours stand out. Also, never fold your resumes; put it in a folder or envelope.


  1. Dress semi formal but comfortable attire- Attending job fair is tiring and sweaty since it is often attended by a lot of job seekers, so it is very important that you wear comfortable attire. Do no wear tight or satin made clothes because it can make you sweat. Bring a handkerchief with you to wipe off the sweat.


  1. Research about the participating companies- Make a research about the participating companies so that you know which among them fits your qualification.


  1. Bring notepad and pen- Most jobseekers rattle during job fairs because they forget to bring a pen when filling  up a form, so make sure that you have one with you. Bring notepads so you can jot down requirements that they asks you to bring and to write down other career opportunities.
