Nationwide Job Fairs for Batch 2009 Graduates

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Sec. Mariano Roque is encouraging all incoming graduates and jobseekers to attend the nationwide job fairs that the DOLE organized, to be held in key universities and cities nationwide.

The job fair is themed as “Handog sa Kabataan sa Kanilang Pagtatapos” that aimed to prevent the increasing number of unemployed degree holders and help all graduates have decent jobs that are suitable with their qualifications.

The job fair will not only offer career opportunities but also seminars and counseling to guide and teach applicants on their job searching. They will also give orientation to students on the present status on Labor force in the country.

Sec Roque says, "The nationwide job fair for the benefit of new graduates form part of the DOLE's employment service strategy to assist new entrants in the face of the current global financial crisis,"

Sec. Roque believes on the capacity of job fairs in giving jobs to all unemployed individuals, prove to this is the Bureau of Labor and Employment reports that shows job fairs facilitated suitable job search and job-and-skills matching assistance to 540,337 job seekers who registered in the 1,023 job fairs that the Public Employment Services Offices (PESOs) for the first 11 months across the regions.

AMA Computer Learning Center and Saint Joseph Institute of Technology both in Butuan City

More job fairs will be conducted in other universities all over the country soon. DOLE says that the job fair is open for all unemployed college graduates and even for non college graduates. The job fairs will cater for both local and overseas jobs.
